Benefiting Research And Investigating Neurological Solutions
A subset of Brains, the Casper Fund, is designated for families identified as having financial difficulties whether it is due to lack of health insurance or long hospital stays. The Casper fund has been named in memory of Rik Casper, who lost his nine-year battle to a brain tumor in 2007. During this time Rik persevered through just about every hardship a brain tumor patient is likely to endure. Through it all he greeted each day with a smile on his face and a joke, or ten, for everyone he met. No one should have to worry about finances for incidentals during this time. It is the sincere hope of the Brains Group that this fund may prove to be a comfort to patients and their families as they face this difficult burden together. Providing such comfort will most certainly prove to be a fitting legacy for Rik.
